Mayor Potencial is looking for students interested in conducting global malnutrition and agricultural research in rural Latin America. During previous service trips, field surveys on nutritional intake, and physicals, were conducted for the children in rural El Rodeito, Hondura. Mayor Potencial is now educating families on how to produce crops that will address their nutritional needs. We are seeking highly motivated students to analyze our past data, and develop a comprehensive plan for a community garden in El Rodeito. You will have the opportunity to go on a service trip to El Rodeito to start this initiative and conduct further research about the community's nutritional needs.

We are looking for students:

  • Interested in community health, who are culturally flexible and can teach collaboratively.

  • Majoring/minoring in early childhood education, human development, linguistics, community advancement.

  • With intermediate-spoken Spanish

What you will do:

  • Work as a Health Clinic fellow; conducting field research and developing new programs to help the whole community with preventative care for basic hygiene (dental and first aid care, etc.).
